MISSION: To empower communities to enhance the qualify of life
and support for military members and their families
through deployment cycles.
The National Restoration to Military Families Team, hereafter known as the National Restoration Team[NRT], is a not-for-profit, tax exempt, community-based organization.
The seed for the National Restoration Team [NRT] was planted into the heart and mind of the founder, PamelaJune [PJ] Banks Anderson, D.Min. At a Local Church Ministries [UCC] Board of Directors' meeting in October of 2004, Dr. Richard Schuster, a layperson from the Michigan Conference stated: "PamelaJune, I understand you are a military chaplain. From the faith-based perspective, what do you suggest we do with deployed service members' families and returning service members?"
When PamelaJune [PJ] returned from Okinawa in November of the same year, she gathered with community and faith-based leaders, educators, and deployed service members' family members, military chaplains, and concerned citizens and asked them to assist in giving birth to a community-based organization that would address Dr. Schuster's concerns as well as issues of adjustment, readjustment, cycles of deployment, grief management, etc., from a faith-based, nonpartisan perspective.
By May 25, 2005, the National Restoration Team was taking shape and, by December 9, 2005, the communicty-based organization was incorporated by the State of Ohio. The Trustees, Board Members, and Advisory Team [Non-Ohioans] were official. By their first anniversary, the National Restoration Team was awarded tax-exempt status and developed their mission statement and the following core values:
